Pennsylvania: Northampton County criminal court records now available online The Express-Times reports via nj.com "Internet users may search for Northampton County criminal court records online now that the county has joined the Pennsylvania Unified Judicial System computer network. County court administrators reported only a few minor problems as the new system went live Monday. The statewide network of judicial records replaces a system in Northampton County that has been in use since 1999, said Deputy Director of Court Administration Jill Smith. The upgrade to the county's computerized court records-keeping system is part of the state Supreme Court's mandate to establish a network of databases to allow counties to search each other's court records. Access to the system is also available on the Internet at ujsportal.pacourts.us" Free People Searches, Plus a Whole Lot More PACER For State Courts Only Free Public Records Free Court Dockets Find Court Case Briefs and Court Reporters permanent link

Indiana: online court records hit snag-Supreme Court cancels contract to link all documents The Indiana Supreme Court has tried to link the different record-keeping systems of nearly 400 courts in all 92 counties, so judges could access court records from other counties and the public could see them online. But the ambitious plan hit a snag recently: Computer software tested for the statewide project could not perform a critical function: tracking money from fines, child support payments and bail bonds. The Supreme Court canceled its contract with the software firm, which agreed to refund the state $7 million. To read full story use e-mail address "courier@mailinator.com" and password "courier".
